Solutions to Rectify QuickBooks Company File error 6129

Solution 1. Backup your company file to prevent accidental loss of data

  1. Open QuickBooks, go to the File menu, and then select the Switch to Single-user mode option.
  2. Move back to the File menu, choose Back up Company, and then Create Local Backup.
  3. Click Local Backup and then Next.
  4. Head to the Local Backup Only section, click Browse and choose a location to save your backup company file.
  5. Click Save it now and then Next.

If the error continues, try Solution 2.

Solution 2. Repair your QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Select the Windows Start icon and open Control Panel.
  2. Click Program and Features, then Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, choose QuickBooks and click Uninstall/Change.
  4. Select Continue, Next, and then Repair.
  5. Wait for the Repair tool to complete the diagnosis, then click Finish.

Solution 3. From the Tool Hub, use Quick Fix my Program to repair QuickBooks

  1. Close company files and then the QuickBooks Desktop application.
  2. Download the QuickBooksToolHub setup file and save the file to the Downloads folder.
  3. Open the Downloads folder, find the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file and open it.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. From your Windows Desktop, find and double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon.
  6. When the tool hub opens, choose the Program Problems tab and click Quick Fix my Program.
  7. Open QuickBooks Desktop and log in to the company file.
